This past week was Fashion Week in New York City, where the
biggest designers showed off their collections that will set the pace for the
Fall 2014 season. Read on to be in the know on the biggest trends and with the weather forecast of less than 50°F for the next week, you can wear some of these trends right now!
Graphic Furs:
As if wearing fur wasn’t a big enough statement piece,
designers are taking it up a notch by incorporating graphic print furs to our
fall wardrobes. Keep an eye out for fur jackets with gridlines, zigzag
patterns, and abstract shapes. Be fierce with a graphic fur this upcoming
season!
Feathers:
Take flight this season with a feathered clothing piece!
Designers turned out feather-filled outfits on the runway this past week,
incorporating plumage into everything from oversized coats to dresses to capes.
Art Pop:
Fashion designers this season took a literal approach to the
term “fashion is art” by translating both contemporary and abstract paintings
onto clothing. Bring out your inner Picasso by sporting an artistic-inspired
outfit!
Western Chic:
Calling all country girls! This Fall 2014 fashion trend is
for you. Cowgirl getups were featured prominently on runways, so dig out all
the Western garb you own, and get ready to rock this trend!
Emerald:
This green hue was all over the runways, and rightly so!
Emerald is the perfect jewel tone for chilly fall days. Try scooping up an emerald chunky knit
sweater, or leather jacket as a fun new color staple in your wardrobe!
Renaissance Faire:
If you’re in the mood for a fairytale this season, you’re in
luck! Many designers showcased renaissance inspired clothing trends including
neck ruffs, and medieval painted dresses.
