With the weather forecast of maximum 36°F, here is what to wear this week to stay warm.
This Scottish-inspired pattern is a fun twist on your basic
plaid. Tartan is a timeless print that can be paired with many different items
of clothing, and can be dressed up or down. It was prominent on the Fall 2013
catwalk, and can be easily carried into the spring season. Often associated
with the “grunge” movement, tartan might seem scary or unattainable, but
it’s much easier to wear than you’d think. So knock those images of 90s punk
and children’s Christmas dresses out of your head, and get ready to embrace the
trend!
For a fun weekend outfit, try styling a pair of tartan
trousers with a comfy oversize sweater, and ankle booties. Or for something a
little dressier, team a tartan mini skirt with a black leather jacket, studded
accessories, and a bright shade of lipstick.
Don’t want to fully commit to the trend yet? No problem.
Ease yourself into it by throwing on a red tartan scarf over a blazer or
leather jacket as a fun way to add a pop of color to a muted outfit.
Finally, the
traditional color of tartan is red, but why not experiment with green, yellow,
or black tartan print? The sky’s the limit with this trendy pattern, so go
ahead and find your favorite color and start styling away!
