For those days when you want to throw on a chic outfit
without having to coordinate your top with your bottoms, a jumpsuit is the
perfect solution! While you may feel like only those with the last name
Kardashian are fit to wear this extravagant clothing item, think again! Here's what to do (and what not to do) to
ensure you’ll not end up looking like your high school
janitor.
Pair It With a Jacket:
If you’re new to the jumpsuit trend, or want a little extra
coverage, try pairing it with a well-tailored blazer jacket. Pick color tones
that compliment each other, and experiment with a patterned blazer if your
jumpsuit is a solid.
Find Your Perfect Fit:
Fit is crucial when it comes to rocking a jumpsuit. You
don’t want to wear something that is too tight that it looks like a second
skin, but you also don’t want to look like you wrapped window curtains around
your body. Pick a jumpsuit that fits snug but not too tight- you don’t want any
fabric pulling.
Don’t Over-do it on
the Accessories:
Since a jumpsuit is already a big statement piece, keep your
jewelry and/or hair accessories minimal, if at all. A simple pair of earrings
or a bangle bracelet will do the trick!
Choose the Right
Fabric:
You should never wear a jumpsuit with a clingy fabric such
as spandex, polyester, or pleather. The fabric should perfectly drape over the
body. Cotton and knit jersey fabric are both
perfect jumpsuit material.
