How to replicate the Grammy fashion trends... at home

The biggest music event of the year took place this past weekend and had some major style standouts. Here are some of the major fashion trends we noticed, and how to replicate them at home!

Metallics/Sequins: Taylor Swift, Chrissy Teigen, and Ciara were all dripping with metallic sequins encrusted throughout the body of their gowns. If you’re looking to get your shine on in a metallic dress, keep it elegant! Add a pearl necklace, throw on a pair of black pumps, or wear your favorite shade of red lipstick. This is a surefire way to look like the belle of the ball!

Red-Hot: Miranda Lambert, Pink, and Colbie Caillat were all sporting red-hot numbers at the awards show, opting for dresses in sassy crimson hues. If you’re looking to wear red to make a dramatic statement at your next party or event, choose something well-tailored and sophisticated, as red is already sultry. Use black as your accessorizing color, whether it be your shoes, clutch, or jewelry.

Black and White Color Blocking: Sarah Hyland and Judith Hill both stunned in show-stopping black and white color blocked dresses. Try using black and white color blocking to your advantage, as a slimming technique! Wear a white dress with black accents on the sides to make your waist look smaller, or choose a black collared dress to draw attention to your face.

Sexy Cutouts: Paris Hilton, Anna Kendrick, and Louise Roe all chose to show some skin with sexy cutouts on their midriffs, thighs, or chest area. If you’d like to give this trend a try, choose a dress with cutouts on the area of your body you feel most comfortable with. Also, keep the look tasteful by limiting yourself to one or two cutouts per outfit- remember: a little peek goes a long way!
