The color of the year for your wedding

Just like we said in one of our latest’s post; every year Pantone, an X-Rite company and major authority in the color industry, reveals the “color of the year”. For 2014 it will be Radiant Orchid: an enchanting harmony of shades of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, and what better way of bringing out the best of it than using it in one the most special occasion: your wedding day; Radiant Orchid looks already festive and ready for a celebration.  Since the color was announced brides and women in general are abuzz with these purple and berry-colored possibilities for wedding and must-have from make-up and apparel to accessories and home décor.

While at first glance the hue screams: “Bridesmaid Dress!!” This color is so versatile you can expect to see it on practically every item on store racks. Radiant Orchid is simply lovely, ideal for those charming moments when emanating joy, love and health is fundamental in order to set that unique atmosphere to make your day unforgettable. As you can see, this is a shade that can apply to seriously anything on your wedding roster: your shoes; your bridesmaid dresses; flowers; cake colors; big, statement jewelry; your rehearsal dinner dress; your favors; your table cloths and tablescapes.. The options are endless!

I would say that Radiant Orchid can be made vibrant, like in an all-over purple and pink look like this, or more subdued with put in small doses with pastels. It also works exceptionally well with many colors, especially lighter pinks, light or deep purples, and green tones and of course, with all the regular metallics such as: silver and gold. Remember; don’t be afraid to mix in other colors.
