Spring 2014 Fashion Trends: Straight From the Runway

Spring 2014 is about transformative clothes. It’s about boiling down everything that was on the runways to the one thing.... or six things to buy next season, which will instantly update your look. During this season, there is fashion for every personality. Look out for the clothes that will empower you to be the best that you can be.

1.     Pastels. Whether you want to look pretty in pink, or prefer a pale yellow, your favorite Easter egg colors are back! These soft springtime hues have been seen throughout designer collections in the form of pretty blouses, whimsical dresses, and even cropped leather jackets. Give this color palette a try this spring!

2.    Wide-Leg Trousers: For a glamorous take on dress pants, look into investing in the perfect pair of wide-leg trousers that compliment your body type. And don’t worry- you don’t have to be a 6’2’ leggy supermodel to pull off this trend. Whatever height you are, just make sure to pick a style that fits to a tee- no bagginess! These pants elongate legs, giving you a taller appearance- not to mention they are extremely comfortable.

3.     Collarless Coat: It’s time to give collars a backseat this season, as collarless coats have been popping up all over the runway. Instead, select coats with interesting textures, buttons, and embellishments. Pair it with a crisp pencil skirt for a great look to wear to the office, or a bodycon dress for a sexy nighttime look.

4.     Athletic Bomber Jackets: Take a cue from your favorite sports team and wear an athletic bomber jacket to stay on trend this season. A fun addition to your street style wardrobe, bomber jackets are casual, stylish and easy to wear. Pick a bomber jacket with a lightweight fabric and interesting patch details. You’ll be looking like a pro in no time.

5.     Shift Blouse: This boxy silhouette was coined “the dressy t-shirt” for its ability to glam up a pair of jeans or high-waisted shorts. Pick a style with elbow-length sleeves and textured fabric.  A shift blouse is a comfy-chic style of clothing you won’t want to skip this season.

6.     Tea-Length Skirts: These feminine calf-length skirts aren’t just for tea anymore! This trendy style looks best when paired with a cropped shirt to give proper proportions to the figure.  Pick a tea-length skirt with floral or lace detail for a romantic look.
