There’s something undeniable about that Androgynous look: it is
awkwardly delicious! It makes us kind of curious and definitively makes
people’s head turn (Shock Factor!). If you don’t feel satisfied with range of
options defined for your traditional gender role or you simply want to try
something different without being too bold or too sexy, it could be a great
choice to look modern and confortable. Androgyny is the balancing of feminine
and masculine traits. If you are female and wish to look androgynous, you are
seeking to minimize some of the feminine aspects of your personality and
appearance, and maximize many of the masculine aspects. Yves Saint-Laurent
started the whole "tuxedos for women" trend and I’d say that it’s a
look that plenty of women are apprehensive about trying out, so we can work our
way up by incorporating pieces that bring out your masculine side in a very
chic way.
Let’s get things straight: straight leg pants, button downs and cardigans
are always a great choice. You necessarily have to buy a two piece trouser suit
to get that androgynous look. For example: pairing high-waisted blue jeans with
a super soft white tee and minimal accessories, perhaps a chunky metal watch;
this works great for a casual look.
Important: Make sure everything is well-fitted and figure-hugging to
lift the outfit from basic to awesome. These days the masculine tailoring on
feminine textures is a most, so don’t be afraid to mix elements. You can step
out in crisp white shirt dresses with oversized grey coats and blazers in the
finest wool or of course, navy cropped boiler and mid-length pleat skirts with multi-pocketed
clutch bags. Be careful with the accessories, ‘discrete’ is the keyword for
this look.
So, what do you think??
