Swimsuits for the Pear body shape

The right swimsuit for the pear shape keeps the eyes focused on the upper body! Therefore, the art of mixing and matching works perfectly for you! Just follow 2 simple rules: Choose
1) a printed or striped top to create volume at your chest that will perfectly counter your generous bottom,

2) a classic bikini silhouette in darker color for the bottom.  Use the color wheel to make harmonious color combinations!

Swimsuits for the Busty body shape

If you're generously endowed on top, there is one thing you can't compromise on: support. Firstly, look for a bikini that has underwire, as well as straps that are sturdy and can be adjusted to fit your frame. Because you're already working with some killer curves, stick to a simpler, overall silhouette and try experimenting instead with creative prints and colors. Also, don't neglect your lower half. Skip the skimpy bottoms and choose one that has a thicker waistband; it will balance out your larger proportion on top.

Swimsuits for the Apple body Shape

An apple-shaped body is where a woman's waistline is her largest measurement, so look for a bathing suit that breaks up the line of your body. Choose a sexy and flattering deep V-neck that elongates and highlights your neck and chest.

The Dos and Don’ts of Wearing Vintage

Perhaps you’ve discovered a pair of flared jeans from high school that you can still squeeze into, or maybe a great vintage dress that fits you like a glove! Great! You can put together a vintage look and stand out from the crowd, just make sure you follow some rules to look up-to-date:

1.   DO avoid looking costume-y. If you wear head-to-toe vintage, there is a chance you will end up looking like a character straight from Mad Men, instead of being influenced by the 1960s. Avoid this by mixing vintage with modern clothing or accessories.
2.   DON’T be afraid to re-purpose a garment. If you find something with a pattern or texture you love, but it has gigantic shoulder pads or is about 4 inches too long, just buy it! Then you can either DIY or take it to a seamstress to alter the garment to your exact specifications.
3.   DO layer up! Pair a contemporary cardigan over a retro cocktail dress for a timeless, sophisticated look.
4.   DON’T buy anything outside your comfort zone. If you love how it looks on the mannequin, but you know it’s something you would never wear, skip it. Stay true to yourself and the styles and colors that flatter your body.
5.   DO know your body type. Be familiar with what styles look good on you so it will help you choose your best silhouette. If you have a smaller waist, highlight it with a skinny belt, or if you are curvier, wear a flowy skirt to flatter your legs.
6.   DO keep it basic, if you’re a vintage newbie. If you have visions of neon lycra and poofy sleeves running through your mind, don’t worry! You can keep your vintage pieces simple by selecting a basic button up or simple sundress, and pairing them with a contemporary piece from your wardrobe.

If you are starting to dip your toes into the pool of vintage clothing, it’s really helpful to collect visual inspiration. Check out Robyn’s pinterest board HERE.
